If you're a woman with a sincere interest in music, then Theta Alpha cordially invites you to check us out.
This group is open to any girl who has taken or is currently enrolled in their first music class - you don't have to be a music major to join! In the 2013-2014 school year, we will be having an Autumn and a Spring rush! Please note that while first-semester freshman are not permitted to rush, please mark your calendar for our Spring rush events! (Our Autumn rush will be open to all sophomores and above.)
So come to a rush event, talk with any of the active sisters, or email us! Watch for flyers around the School of Music and the SAI bulletin board on the first floor of Hughes, or check our calendar for details on upcoming events. We hope to see you soon!
WHY should I join SAI?
Sisterhood. Many great relationships are cultivated through SAI, especially within our chapter here at Ohio State. Our sisters represent almost every area of the school of music, as well as other majors outside the arts. We have the opportunity to meet a lot of other ladies involved with music and SAI, both students and SAI alumnae. We have fun together through social events, and we celebrate the achievements of all our members.
Service. SAI is very active in the school of music at Ohio State. We usher at concerts, work with faculty to organize events like Honor Band and Jazz Fest, and help out with other events whenever we can! SAI also has the opportunity to support further-reaching causes through our national philanthropies.
Professional Development. SAI cultivates leadership and teamwork in everything we do, building experience that prepares us for life after college. SAI supports and encourages professional and personal development by offering scholarships, loans and awards to deserving members. Plus, the networking is great!
Music! Music is the first thing that bonds us together as sisters, and it is present in all we do. We perform for each other and support the musical endeavors of every sister, whether she is pursuing a career in music or simply wants music to be an important part of her life.
Membership in SAI requires…
A sincere interest in music
An established college GPA of 2.5 and enrollment in at least one music class before pledging (participation in university ensemble classes does count! e.g. Women's Glee Club, Symphonic Choir, University Winds, etc.)
Commitment to weekly meetings and participation in fraternity events and service projects
